Etwall has two churches serving the Anglican and Methodist communities. St Helen's Church is situated prominently on Church Hill, just beyond the village green and the Methodist Church is a few yards past the post office on Willington Road. In addition, a Roman Catholic church is situated in the neighbouring village of Mickleover.
The famous Almshouses by St Helen's lie behind a pair of ornamental iron gates which originally belonged to the old Etwall Hall.
Just behind the almshouses is the Etwall Cricket Club where you can watch the village teams play most weekends during the summer or enjoy the facilities of their clubhouse.
Hansons Auctioneer’s can be found on Heage Lane (by the Seven Wells pub)
There are a number of places to eat and drink in and around Etwall:
- The Hawk and Buckle Inn, a Marstons pub almost opposite the Church
- The Blenheim House Hotel and restaurant has conference facilities and also incorporates a beauty salon.
- The Spread Eagle, the oldest pub in Etwall, is situated in the village centre opposite the village green
- The Seven Wells, an ‘Eating Inn’ pub just off the roundabout on the A516 road out to Mickleover
